cichlidman2010
I'm about to paint the back of my 4x2x2ft tank. Its new, so will be strong and dry when i get it. What is the best paint to use on the tank that will actually stick, dry and not scratch/peel off easily ? I want to get it right the first time ! Cheers ! the-obstacle
I just used acrylic house paint and rolled it on. awesome finish but crap paint choice. The best finishes come from using enamel paint with a fine (foam) roller. If you can't be bothered with a roller the spray can would be the next best thing. cichlidman2010
is spray paint going to scratch off ?
Caryl
If it is on the back of the tank, against a wall, how is it going to get scratched? I have spray painted the backs of tanks and found the paint to be reasonably scratch resistant. Do several thin layers rather than fewer thicker ones. Sophia
We rolled on some acrylic house paint and it gave a much better finish than when brushed on the first tank. The edges do try to a peel a little if it gets bumped by wires going around corners if you take it right to the edges like I did, but overall I'm happy with it and would do it again.
