snookie
about 6 foot minimum but bigger the better , as clowns are able too grow 3 foot +
Tsarmina
my clown knife shares his tank with 2 chocolate talking catfish, though i may have to move them before too long. i'm going to have to remove a few of their hiding spaces as its taking up too much room in the tank. Fruju
IMO cks need bigger tanks than aros; 1st. they grow bigger, 2nd. they are less flexible. wicked fish but hard to house properly. Large cichlids for tankmates, bichirs, bala sharks, tinfoils, pretty much any big fish - MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT TOO SMALL, cks have massive mouths. lifelong tank: 3ft wide X 6ft long X 2ft deep !drool:
henward
cks are big fish. when they rach 40 to 50 cm, their growth slows dramatically similar to aros. when fed right that is with good water. large tank, fraser is right on dimensions. a tiny bit smaller will suffice but his dimensions are good. tank mates, bichirs, arowanas, flagtail, fast moving fish, they are not aggressive to other fish unless cornered... but even then not too agro. but, anything small and lets off that "prey" signal will be destroyed. dont put tank mates, your tank is too small. upgradef irst
Fruju
Lol, henwards 'crameverythinginanditwillbeok' theory , whats the width on your tank with the k in it henward? 70/80cms? You could get away with that alright since it will most likely not reach 3ft in captivity, but smaller than that isn't really fair on it. henward
yeah, 83 is the width of both my tank yeah, thats true in a sense, likelihood it will reach that size is remote in a tank, pond maybe.
reptilez
Would a 6 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot be to small ?
Fruju
IMO yes, I had one in mine, made me feel guilty having one and he wasn't even at 2ft yet , BGKs are awesome too and are much easier to house.
