kiwiplymouth
Hey Ryan, I am just curious as to why you are so certain that the bottom fish is a male ? Head shape? Anal fin ? I have always had trouble sexing these guys
Fruju
8 inches Had a female blue, less colour, much smaller, and the fins were a lot shorter.
ryanjury
I had guessed a male due to size (it looks like a big filled in fish) finage etc.. But I don't really know too much about these guys could be entirely wrong..

myfishybuisness
kp, i would say that is a male, but i may be wrong :-?
Fruju
yep male
kiwiplymouth
I'm pleased to see that my thinking is the same as you guys. Do you place any relevance to the fact the males seem to have a square tail shape opposed to the females with a rounder tail?
Fruju
more emphasis on the fin trails/length, males appear more flamboyant.

myfishybuisness
i heard that you have to cross a male electric blue with a normal female to get the electric blue , because they are infertile or somthing, please correct me if im wrong , because im going to have a go :happy1:
ryanjury
Do you have normal or crossed females to try and breed them with? You need to cross a blue male to a normal female, grow out offspring and then breed a female cross back to a blue male to get a % of blues out.. There are rumours of 100% blue pairs breeding successfully though..
Fruju
i have anormal female but they harass her into a corner tbh they are more keen on food
