Adrienne
why is your husband concerned about the weight? Is it because he thinks the bottom of the tank may break or that the floor won't hold the weight. If the bottom of the tank is on a proper stand with polystyrene between it and the solid tank top there should not be a problem. If its because of the flooring then you are in trouble anyway as the tank will weigh about 450kg once filled with water and without rocks or substrate in it. Then you have the weight of the stand. what ever you do, make sure the rocks can't be moved by fish or anything else as a rock falling may fracture the glass. fishgirl53
My tank is an Aqua El sitting on a concrete floor I think he is just a little worried about 450ltrs in our living LOL
Adrienne
In that case just make sure your rocks are stable - what sort of fish are you going to have in there as some fish dig around the rocks. You are running a filter or have you adapted it to run a sump
fishgirl53
I am going to be putting African Cichlids in and I know they dig the rocks I have in so far is lime stone fairly large and just some large grey rocks on the other side still trying to arrange it all and will be getting more rocks I am running an Eheim 2329 filter
ryanjury
You can generally pile the rocks up pretty high as Adrienne mentioned just make sure they can't topple over, build your rock formation without gravel underneath so you know it is stable without the substrate in case they dig under it.
