jc254
Ok i fly to Christchurch first thing tomorrow morning, I am flying airnz and have two baby snake neck turtles, has anyone had any issues taking them as hand luggage in a bag? Also will they be ok going through the xray machine?
diver21
fish have been through the xray many times before but they can sometimes be a problem at the gate. generally it should be fine if theyre in some sort of box so they cant escape easily like an icecream container. oO SKIPPY Oo
i brought a fish back from akl to wlg via air nz - they tend to be ok and wont put through the xray but expect them to want to open the package up and look under the turtles etc

alanmin4304
Following a complaint to the SPCA they have a policy that they must be in a suitable plastic container which is best to be more rigid than an icecream container to avoid being crushed. If you tell the airline they may want to charge you heaps but if you don't tell them security don't usually worry.
DonnaM
Make sure they have a damp/wet cloth or paper to keep them cool in the plane.
