Allister_B
iv had this happen to a female german, no idea why it just happens, apparently it happens to quite a few german blue rams though.

Joutei
nope no visible signs, poor little guy. just passed on :tears: . Is my Ph and nitrate levels alright? Would you have any idea of why this happens?
Flosty
Ph should be fine,I know the rams prefer slightly lower ph but most fish do fine as long as the ph is stable and doesn't fluctuate. Very unlikely that your nitrate is reading 0, maybe your test kit is old?
Joutei
hi there tested again , nitrate : 10 Ph : 7.
Stephanie
Sorry about your fish. I wouldn't take it personally, blue rams are stupidly hard to keep for no apparent reason. I lost my female like you described after she happily spawned twice, the male a few months later for no reason, no gasping or signs of illness. Broken heart? It's just one of those things sadly. :-?
