DennisP
Some evil fish took a bite out of one of my BGK a few weeks back, as it healed I saw a small white extension from where it was bitten. I figured it must be the end of the spine and I just ignored it. Today I had another look and it has definitely grown and is about 2 or 3 mm long. It is the same spoon shape as the tails usually are. Will it regrow? What is going on? Will update pictures later if I can get a good one.

DennisP
Any that wont get eaten. Mine only start eating tetra at about 20cm in size. They are really peaceful.

DennisP
You'd want to look out with 2 of them though. They MAY fight.
Carlos & Siran
We're putting a BGK in our South American tank along with some blue tetras(cochus), do you think they'll be safe? Too nice a fish to lose as live food.
DennisP
Depends on how big they are, how big the BGK is, and how much meaty foods you feed. Eventually, though, they will all disappear.
phoenix44
conchus won't disappear. They are fast.
DennisP
Since when have tetra been fast at night...?
phoenix44
They shouldn't get eaten. Conchus are one of those - compatible fish. If you had a fully grown BGK; things might be different, but unless that is the case - it'll be fine. Really...

Carlos & Siran
How bout rummy's then? no one would doubt they're fast.......nightmare to catch
DennisP
I say it doesn't matter if they're fast. Most people will have noticed fish stop moving at night. And BGK are nocturnal. And most likely don't get fed at night. Nuff sed.
