Jason22 Posted January 5, 2011 Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 My 3 year old female bearded dragon is shedding for the first time since i have had her. she didn't eat for the first week, witch i was not worried about. still not that worried because shes happy as, eating etc. but it been 3 weeks since she started to shed and only her legs, tail and around the mouth have shed all her toes have shed so not cutting off any blood flow. 3 weeks + is longer than expected. should i be bathing her, didn't want to her to become reliant on the bath for her to shed. Insect Direct Posted January 5, 2011 Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 more often than not my bds only shed parts of their body at a time. i assume its normal. blue tongues on the other hand seem to shed completely within a day maybe 2. Insect Direct Posted January 5, 2011 Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 i never pay much attention to their shedding :oops: bath doesnt hurt once in a while. i normally go for 26-30C water temp, deep enough for them to stand up in. sunlight seems to get mine shedding a bit faster. someone else may want to add their bit... im just a madman :lol: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

WTM Posted January 10, 2011 Report Share Posted January 10, 2011 Izzy at first would shed entirely, but these days it's definitely in sections, indeed he has shed twice now around his head, without shedding his main body. If there is stubborn skin, that is obviously distressing him, then a bath does indeed help... but you eventually just learn to trust them to get through it.
