Fruju
I'm going to U2 also! But yeah, HFF is your best bet, there are some ok animates around too.
amethyst
We've got 3 Animates here and whenever I look into the fishtanks at out local I always see diseased fish. I tell them they have sick fish and always get the "I'll tell the fish guy as soon as he gets back" line but I'm never there to see it . ryanjury
Tons of places that are worth a visit, what sort of fish are you after? The HFF stores would be the first and best option but pupuke/birdbarn and some of the others sometimes have gems or bargains hiding away if you are up for a mission and have transport. cliffy
so you have problems with animates down there. I heard that the howick branch lost all there stock short time ago because of some disease. Some one told me that they only use one filter to run all there tanks. oneeyedfrog
I recently visited Pupuke for the 1st time and was impressed. Worth a visit I reckon . Also the only place I have seen that has a sign by the goldfish advising they need a large tank.
the-obstacle
Where/What is this Pupuke you speak of? It is by the lake?
Sophia
Birkenhead, Pupuke Rd, on the corner of another road with some shops. Google Pupuke Aquarium centre and you'll get the street number
the-obstacle
ahh, that makes sense, I know exactly where it is now. I grew up around there but never thought to look.
amethyst
so you have problems with animates down there. I heard that the howick branch lost all there stock short time ago because of some disease. Some one told me that they only use one filter to run all there tanks. When we were at tower junction last week they had 6 tanks quarantined. I refuse to buy fish from there now, they are overpriced and scrawny . Used to be awesome when hubby and I started too, such a shame.

Mikey
Pupuke Aquarium is between the dairy and the fish and chip shop (Irony) on the corner of Pupuke Road and Lydia Avenue. Small shop... but still cool to visit, and the guy there is happy to chat away about many subjects I'll give another plug for HFF in Albany as it is the one I go to mainly, they have been awesome to me getting back into the hobby. Animates North Shore is a bit hit and miss, I often go in there while wife is buying fruit and veges and there is often sick or dead fish in their tanks... haven't seen this happen at HFF yet. Just my 2c.
