breakaway
I think this puffer is blind, or at least incredibly visually impared. I'm trying to feed him with a pipette, and he keeps lunging for the food but keeps missing. (Watch in HD if you can) Is my hypothesis valid? Brennos
I think this puffer is blind, or at least incredibly visually impared. I'm trying to feed him with a pipette, and he keeps lunging for the food but keeps missing. (Watch in HD if you can) Is my hypothesis valid? Mine does this too. I use tweezers, and blood worms. He gets some of them. I just thought he was dim.
breakaway
I'm pretty sure he has visual impairment. None of my other puffers do it. This puffer also frequently swims into plants and other fish. When I had him in my 200L he used to always hide. I figured this was because he got scared of other fish 'sneaking' up on him - truth is he never saw them until they were 1mm from his face! oscnz
I had a dwarf puffer with the same problem and I came to the same conclusion does his eyes look in any way damaged?

Mikey
Watched the video.... it's eyes seem to be moving around like it is looking.... Maybe it isn't blind but does have some sort of visual impairment.... like a depth perception issue? It looks like it it lunging ok... just not quite accurate. It could have just been worried about the pipette itself, because when you pulled the worm out so more was exposed it nailed it easy then... Or maybe it is just gumby
