cessna driver
I have 4 discus ranging in size from about 70mm - 140mm head to tail, the three smaller ones will eat any thing I feed them but the largest one (Only had for 4 days) will only eat blood worms, I've tried the New Life spectrum stuff that I feed mostly of, discus tucker, JBL grano colour in the click container, sera discus granules, flakes, cichlid crumbles. Anything except blood worms, the fish just spits out. I don't think it's sick but just acting like a spoiled child . Anything else I could try or should it become less picky once it settles in more? phoenix44
Just starve it, and keep feeding the other fish what you normally feed them. He'll get the idea soon enough. Took mine a week or so. But soak the food before you feed it to them.
Dave+Amy
You should hold back on bloodworms - a bit too fatty, they need a high protein diet so just starve them. How many times do you feed them per day? I feed them 4/5times a day: 3 x colourbits 1/2 x beef heart and bloodworms every third night. ryanjury
I have to agree, just keep feeding variety (bar their fav food) until they eat they will get over it Variety is the spice of life and bloodworms should only be occasional treats.. cessna driver
Their normal diet is the New Life discus formula that I soak and feed in the morning late afternoon and mid evening; a bit more in the weekends. 3 of them will guts the stuff all day if I'd let them. The blood worms are only fed once in a while. Beef heart just a normal cow heart from the butcher? Cheers
Dave+Amy
you add ox heart, white fish, salmon, prawns, garlic, spinach, some flake food and peas to the mixture brings out the best colours
