His tank is all ready for him after prolonged scrolling through many photos of beardie setups! :-D Last thing is the lights. We have a double lighthood from one of the fish tanks which we are going to use. Would we be best to get two UVA/UVB tubes, or are there other better options eg one UVB and one of something else? Also what wattage heat/basking bulb is best? How many hours a day would you normally run the basking lamps? And during the night do you need to use a heat pad? alanmin4304 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Share Posted September 18, 2010 There are many ways to do it. I use heat emitters for heat night and day and flouro UV for 12 hours during the day. With the double light hood id just run a single tube tbh, buying two UV tubes is pointless, as youll have to replace both of them at the 6-9 month mark, and putting another standard flouro tube in there means your just going to be using more power... As for heat emmitters, go for a 150W+ with a thermostat. thermostat is well worth the money, and the larger lamp gives you a much better temperature range that you can use with the thermostat.
