Sunbird73
Hi I don't know much about aq plants either BUT... My daughter has an AR380, and I have planted ambulia in there, some hairgrass and some twisted vallisneria (sp???) And some indian fern. And some dwarf saggitaria. The plants that are rocketing away and looking the best are (lush and green) are the indian fern and the ambulia. The hairgrass is managing, and same with the twisted vallisneria and they look good but the saggitaria doesn't seem to like the amount of light in there?? I also bought some JBL (?) fertiliser balls and stuffed them into the substrate under the plants. And fertilise with one drop of seachem flourish every 3days - 1wk. It looks fabulous (before just had plastic plants) and makes such a difference having real plants. I encourage you to get some indian fern or something to start with, it will look great and grows so fast! If your AR380 was not bought new then I suggest you replace the lights in it, the plants do best if the fluoros are not older than a year (in contrast I have an AR126 bought secondhand with lights 2yrs old and only indian fern will grow, but even then not as green and pretty as the 380 with new lights) Go for it! If you want me to send you an indian fern/ambulia cutting PM me I have a small amount to spare .

Carlos & Siran
I tiffed our Indian fern, it just went ballistic and took over....and it has this annoying habit of losing little babies that float everywhere and block out the lights...
