Suction cups on internal Eheim filters

Hi guys, was wondering if anyone else has had any problems with the suction cups actually working on thee filters.

I got one recently, fairly new, off a friend and the bloody thing won't stick to the glass. The suction cups look like they are in good nick so I don't know what their problem is. Its a bigger size then the old little one i had and that one stuck like there was no tomorrow but this new one just won't. Similarily my friend also got one like this recently (even bigger then my new one) and it refuses to stick. It even floated up sporadically on her and started spraying water everywhere...

Should I try and replace the cups?

weird. my old eheim internal is about 6 years old now and doesn't stick cause the suction cups are heard. the newer ones have a different rubber suction cup that should always stick.

if its covered under the warranty you'd be able to do a straight swap or get new cups for it depending on who you dealt with.

Oh ok. Yeah, I didn't buy it new, got it off a friend who also got it off a friend. They are sorta hard...but they look new so I can't really judge how old it is. I will look into replacing them.
