alanmin4304
It will cost you a lot more if they escape. I would advise you you to stick to locusts, mealworms or crickets in that order.
Zev
Hi insectkeeper, and welcome to the Fishroom - how about introducing yourself in the Welcome section?
Caryl
Most of us spend a lot of money to get rid of them! My set-up is my back yard - particularly the pond filter. Lift the lid and cockroaches run in all directions!

Manda
Where in NZ are you...
alanmin4304
There are many types of cockroaches in NZ and many of them are native and feed on leaf litter and fungus etc. If you are determined to breed them I would suggest to get the large american ones or the smaller german ones. They are zippy! oh cool man if you want to get some for me, you can cut a coke bottle top off and flip it around then push it in the bottle upside down and put vaseline in the tube part its called a vaseline trap, http://www.k12.hi.us/~rkubota/digiphoto ... ettrap.jpg also tape it up like that aswell use cat food, or dog food as bait in the bottle. and if you do catch some please help me out, i dont even mind if you send me two its better than nothing. thanks
Caryl
Hmm I don't drink Coke (or other carbonated dronks that come in those bottles) or have any cat or dog food so it might take some time to get the parts for the trap and the bait to put in it. I will see what I can do.
