alistair Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 please help one of my convicts has been sitting at the bottom of the tank for hours and keeps falling to its side and the tips of its fins are going orange sort of colour and the other fish are picking on it. i think it might be a sort of alge on its fins so i changed 30% of the water and i dont know what else to do. please help!!! Aquila Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 I would put the fish in quarantine first of all to prevent it geting bullied or passing on whatever it may have. Make sure the water is well aerated and put the temp just a bit higher up. The water change was good, do another 50% when setting up the temporary tank. A picture would help with diagnosis but it sounds like it might be a bacterial infection if the fins are going orange. Does it look like blood streaks? Do you have furan-2 on hand?
