Vinnie
I was at the rock pools today getting some shrimp and found out once I got home that one was holding eggs. Any one know how long she will hold them before they hatch?
seahorsecrazy
I have had one hold them for nearly a month, but they didnt survive for long - not sure why. They hatch and look like heaps of stringy bits of skin hanging under their tail for quite some time before they are released and swim on their own. Mum keeps the babies well flushed by pulsating her tail quickly and I suppose this gets them clean water...
puttputt
Then they will be eaten, die, disappear. Very difficult to raise shrimp, even experts. Great zooplankton type meal for others in your tank though.
