Nymox
This stuff looks amazing, Ive read its not very easy to keep in an aquarium and some sites even say its not an aquatic plant, was even referred to as any old weed. Any suggestions as to how I might keep some in my aquarium? I just love the purple plants.
supasi
Hi Its a marginal plant that prefers to grow in moist ground Many LFS sell it as an aquarium plant but it will, no matter how much you try, start to die off within a few months. It would suit better in a Paladarium setup. Sadly most LFS dont even know what they are selling let alone how to care for them. Plants that are red in colour nearly always need alot more light than the green varieties.
Nymox
Great thanks supasi Im gunna grow it outside of the tank, Ill make a damp little green house for it and make sure it gets plenty of natural light. Once its larger Ill take smaller cuttings for furnish the tank till it does off, then replace as required. It looks so good in the tank, that rich purple against the green, I cant not have it now
alanmin4304
If you want something similar that will survive submersed in reasonable light try Alternanthera reineckii roseafolia.
