Keyhole worries... Advice please...

I have a breeding pair of keyholes, the male is dull in colouring has lost his black markings and just sits next to the filter above the bubblewall.

He looks to be breathing fine and has no signs of injuries.

The female looks stunning, very vibrant and brightly coloured as if she is ready to breed.

All water parameters are perfect.... Amonia, nitrite, nitrate 0, PH 7.2

Temp at room temp is 26-27..

Any ideas what could be his worries????

Mine do much the same. Is she on eggs??

She will get very territorial towards any other fish when she is breeding.

You will probably find that the male is not in the mood, and the female is giving him a hard time about it.

Try removing him for a week or so, then reintroduce them.

Thanks Supasi.... She's not on eggs, but I thought it maybe something to do with that but wanted to check it out first... it does look as though he is trying to hide from her...

(huh of all males LOL)

Think he is changing his mind his is all of sudden getting his colours back........
