Fruju
Got a banded knife today, gonna grow to 2ft, named him 'Diego', has a funny little smile on his face. I love this guy! Who else bought one other than henward?
Fruju
Thanks so much guys, he is awesome, given him some plants and he seems to be ok, i assume you fed him bloodworms in store, but I shall try to wean him onto pellets. David R
Henwards is taking sinking carnivore pellets readily. Cool fish, wish I had space for one, nearly bought one 6 years ago when I lived in Hamilton, haven't seen them since.

Fruju
Thanks guys, hope to grow him up to 50cm+, want to do a kind of knifefish/bichir theme, with my 2 clowns, maybe a couple of BGKs, other species if i can find them, along with my bichirs. I am upgrading in a couple of months -ish, and im gonna do a cool lighting setup: At each end have a double bulb of greenish light (not too bright) and then a uv+marine glo in the middle, run the uv during the day, and blue at night. overall a dark tank but should create a dramatic effect with the contrast between light and dark, maybe the knives will stay out more if its a shady tank. Will have white sand, limited plants (anubias maybe) and have a big piece of wood. Hopefully he will take pellets, once he is large he will make a great showfish. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Floater
That looks really good! Bit different from the old BGK's.

A.PROPHECY
when the clowns get larger they may bully it or each other just keep an eye on it..
Fruju
8-10 cm approx quite fat too 8-10 cm approx quite fat too Nice bro, they still on bloodworms or are they on pellets? when the clowns get larger they may bully it or each other just keep an eye on it.. yeah, i will watch them, henward keeps 2 BGKs with his CK and their alright, but I have 2 Cks so maybe they will focus on each other rather than the banded, also if i get 2 BGKs it will disperse aggression further? David R
clowns might grow faster too, they can be pretty big and active compared to the banded knife.
Fruju
yeah, better than when they are younger, when small they are fragile, been there and done that x2 so getting henward to pass that stage for me, they wouldnt get far with my ornate and dat + the ctenopoma showed aggression towards them too , safer with my dels on a high protein diet. A.PROPHECY
to be honest i think henwards clown will eventuly deal to his two ghost knifes not a good combo... clowns have alot of power behind them when they get a bit bigger
Fruju
Henwards clown is 30/40cm and has a bust jaw. and the larger BGK is almost as big lengthways, I guess you have to experiment to know.
