caroldaisy3
Hi everyone...I am feeding my son-in-laws fish from today until he gets home Sunday evening. His angel fish have laid eggs (yesterday, Thursday) and this morning some of them have gone white. I understand these white ones are dead ones. Is this correct and is it okay for me to leave them in the tank until he gets home Sunday evening? The eggs have been laid on a leaf. Caryl
Just leave them. All will probably get eaten.
caroldaisy3
This is the third time they have laid eggs and they ate the first two lots but this time I must say they are being very good parents (!) and leaving them alone. I just wondered if the water would get poisoned or something if the dead eggs were left.
MarkLB
I haven't kept Angels so this will need to be confirmed but I think the parents will remove any bad eggs.
alanmin4304
They frequently eat the lot. They can't eat any if you remove them.
caroldaisy3
They both keep hovering over the eggs but i have not seen them eat any. Do you think I should remove the two angels who are separated from the main part of the tank and leave the eggs where they are.
Matto
you can pick the dead ones off with a pair of tweezers and put some meth blue in the tank to stop the eggs from getting fungi. you can move the eggs to another tank if you have to and so water changes .hope it all works
oO SKIPPY Oo
if you move the parents back in with the other fish just make sure they dont attack the 3rd angel and kill it - i dont want to come back to a dead fish !!! maybe put the lone angel in the breeding trap if they start on them They both keep hovering over the eggs but i have not seen them eat any. Do you think I should remove the two angels who are separated from the main part of the tank and leave the eggs where they are.
oO SKIPPY Oo
im so happy - it appears today we have approx 50 wrigglers - my angels arent gay afterall, probably half of the eggs turned white and i cant believe how small they are !!! so use to seeing baby swordtails that are about 4 times bigger... now i just need to look up what i need to feed them - are microworms too big for these ? alanmin4304
Don't feed anything until they are free swimming. Microworm is OK but brine shrimp nuplii is better. They are best in a bare bottom tank because you can more easily keep track of how much you are feeding.
