Tyrannosaurus
Hi everyone, Just thought I would make a post here about the white spot on my new Synodontis, I haven't dealt with it before and I am hoping things go well. She seems in good health, she just has quite a few patches of white furry whatnots on her that I am pretty sure shouldn't be there. Starting today, I dosed the tank with Wunder Tonic, I chose that over the straight up whitespot because it has both methylene blue and malachite green in it, both good for white spot and it also has some quinine and acraflavine. I dosed at half the rate, because being a synodontis catfish, she doesn't have scales. There is a young Jack Dempsey in the tank with her, he is utterly unaffected, only she has these spots, which I guess means she is stressed. I've raised the temperature to 27 (I had been keeping it lower because I read that Dempsey's do better with temps at the lower end of the tropical scale.) I also added aquarium salt as per dosing directions. I'll update things here. It is hard to tell how she is doing sometimes because of the whole nocutrnal / hiding away a lot thing. Tyrannosaurus
I don't have a picture of her with the white spot, and right now the tank is dark blue and she is hiding, so no picture there, but this is what she looked like beforehand... it seems to have developed quite quickly, within a week. Tyrannosaurus
My fingers are crossed I'll keep this updated until the ich is conquered anyhow.
