northland chic
If you haven't got one already put a cover over your pond. Friend's cat came home with a bright reddish comet about 10cm body and huge shredded tail. Took them a second to get over their amazement and check for vital signs. Fish still alive with just a few scales missing and a small wound to the head but looking good and swimming. Asked the first neighbour and found her home so hopefully she is back there now. Neighbours had taken the cover off thinking it would be fine with the fish at the bottom for winter. A few nice warm days and they were all at the surface. Poor old girl! N1CK
Our cat ate 6/7 of our big orandas before we figured out what was eating them  , we finally figured it out after we found her in the moring with a still live one in her mouth     Another thing to be wary of is if they start spawning in the shallows of your ponds as they seem to be a lot easier for cats to catch then
dantedobe
We are so lucky. We have 8 cats and none of them touch the goldfish and I've had the pond for 3 years. They even drink from the pond and the fish all come over to see if they are going to be fed! Our dogs keep the neighbours cats out of our backyard which is good. Caryl
Touch wood we have not had any cats attacking our fish either and we have 4 or 5 cats wandering through our yard. They drink out of the pond but I have never seen one take any notice of the fish at all. Herons are a different matter!
