Matto
i have a pair of nics in my 620t they have a red spot pleco in with them too and they are digging up my tank . Has anyone bred them before? any tips?
Morcs
How big are they? I wouldve though the footprint of a 620T would be too small for them? Id suggest removing the pleco and let them get on with it. Otherwise pleco has a nice midnight snack whilst the parents are asleep... Matto
they are quite large they are probly 10-15 cm i have hade them for a year or two so i would say they are nearly full grown. i will take out the pleco and what size foot print do they need as they seem fine in the 620t ? smidey
those should really be in a 4 footer, 3 foot minimum. the 620 is far too small, its a great excuse to get a new setup
ryanjury
That tank would probably be ok for just a single pair, ideally they would want some more space, and if things got rocky in their relationship as sometimes things do then the female may get killed as she wont have enough room to hide. Definitely remove the plec he will probably be getting a hard time if they do lay and as already said he will go around after dark and munch all the eggs up. Google should have plenty of info on breeding they should be very easy..
Matto
there are a few caves so they should be sweet and they are not that easy as i have had them for nearly 2 years and nothing!!!!!!!!!

Morcs
Get a 3ft (or 4) and keep the 620T as a grow out tank for the fry

Sharkie
yea i breed them quite a few tyears ago in a 4ft tank and it wasnt hard to be honest and once they started the problem was getting them to stop.from memory water was around neutral and had gravel bottom a peice of wood and a teracotta pot. Morcs
Wow, they are pretty fish. Are they active and interesting behaviour wise too? I cant remember the last time my tank had activity like this! The two that I think are females each have claimed half of my tank, with the line right down the middle, they have a cute stand-off confrontation about every 30 minutes  Ill have one or two for sale in a few weeks, I either want to keep just a female (for colour) or a pair if one forms.
