LYNDYLOO
I have this slight problem. I have quite a few Pregnant Guppys at the Moment, they dont seem to be having their Babys, they just seem to get Fatter and Fatter, then develop this Hunch Back, Scales start to come away from their Bodies, abit like when a Fish has Dropsy. Really not sure what to do with them. The tank they are in is having 2 Water Changes a day, Ammonia is sitting around .25-.50, hence the 2 Water Changes a day, only a newish tank. I Transfered a Tray of Media from my Community Tank and my Discus Tank Filters, ( I have 3 of the same Filters) so thats 2 trays of pre used Media, the Filters I took the Trays out of have been up and running for around 8 months now, I thought that would have been enough to prevent it from going through the Cycling period, but obviously not. The Male Guppys look fine, they dont develop the Hunch back thing like the Girls do. Any Ideas as to whats causing this??
AquaVitamins
I have been experiencing a similar problem with my female guppy's. There fins are not popped out, but they are well over due to give birth. Absolutely HUGE! :-?
BikBok
My golden female guppy was pregnant for ages before she gave birth.. I reckon at LEAST 6-7 weeks. She was so huge I was seriously worried for her! Then when she did birth they didn't come out easily... some had their tails hanging out for a while before they came out.. they seemed bigger than my other guppys babies. Anyway she gave birth to only 15 babies but is still really big a week later, I'm sure I can see more in there.

lmsmith
I had the same sort of prob, I introduced some from a different population and it hasn't happened in a while. We have a very small gene pool in NZ, so breeding the bad genes just make it worse.
