Ashzbetta
oh i hate egg eaters, it took me about 6 trys with my one before i got anything, unfortuantely the father has passed away now and that was the spawn that the heater stopped working and killed all the babies, so pretty much i tryed really hard for a spawn from him but didnt even get anything anyway here are a couple of photos of my new boy
Adrienne
My delta spawn has produced 150 - 200 fry, all starting to swim horizontally now. Dad is a black and mum is a marble. My largest spawn for some time too.

nycnlo
We have purchased a house out eyreton/swannonoa, real nice place take possesion on 17july and def going to build a specialist fish room for breeding silly not too considering its not going to cost much to setup thru hookups at work. that way dont have to work out of a bedroom or sideroom of garage and can get more tanks lmao Better go feed the fry and other fish! nycnlo
where abouts did you get a delta female from? arent deltas just <180deg halfmoons technically? so ideally any halfmoon female would suffice? def keen to see some piks of the spawn once grow enuf mine are munching away on microworms as we speak seems to be alot of them floating around int he tank hopefully get something other than reds and oranges from this spawn since both parents are same coloring have lavender butterfly male in with mg female at mo.. looking promising at mo

Ashzbetta
oh it will be good if they are fertile, sounds like a nice colour combination, as soon as i find time to clean out my 2 spawning tanks i will get a cellophane pair a go, busy for the next 6 weeks organising a school production though so might be hard to find the time ashley
darkfur
do you guys have problems with cannibal fry? I have noticed my babies disappearing and one little guy getting BIG so I guess it's him? He's gonna be a good fish anyway lol
Ashzbetta
how big is he? maybe you need to seperate him, or some of the bigger fry
nycnlo
if you suspect hes a canibal fry or eating all the food not letting the others get any you should seperate him to give the others a chance.. small amount generally die off and fighters grow at different rates.. always try seperate the big from small that mg / black hm spawn... prob got about 15eggs left.. unknown if fertilized yet as not sprouted tails have had another spawn this time with the black butterfly halfmoon and mg hm female not a heap of eggs but daddy is now the surrogate to the first spawn of eggs as the first male decided to give up and laze around not picking them up.. hes accepted them and now tending to them as if they were his! (cheating i know) hopefully there a few little tails dangling from the nest tonight when i get home or tomorrow

nycnlo
Hey Ashley the first lot of halfmoon fry are doing well ...have had minimal falloff in numbers still prob about 50 or so of the buggers swimming and eating Havent had anyother spawns since this as have slowed down due to the fact that were moving this weekend. so will take me a wee bit to get all setup again will get the rest of tanks setup once there and get my fish room constructed and setup before transfering stock over will look at breeding once im settled into the new place how your fish going? regards KRis
