phoenix44
but there is no reflection in a bare bottom tank (not once you shove your head underwater and checked to see if i am lying, lol). lots of people keep them in bb tanks to grow them out etc. is this normal? No not that i know of. maybe they are exploring?
alanmin4304
They should return to normal shortly. I used to have 8 pairs happily breeding in bare tanks without any problems. Also raised the fry in bare tanks.

ryanjury
Probably just freaking out, they do this sometimes when going from tanks with gravel into bare bottomed tanks.. I have started painting the bottoms of my bare bottom tanks black to try and minimise this..
alanmin4304
That is probably the problem. When you take newly imorted fish out of boxes and put them in tanks they go a bit weird and it is probably because of the direction the light is coming from (the side). Most tanks are on white polystyrene and this will put light up from the bottom which must make them feel like they are in a house of mirrors.
