RnB
Ivan gave me some pieces of frogspawn, is it safe to glue these to rocks using the underwater epoxy putty stuff.......?????? They seem to like quite high light levels, what 1/3 or the tank, from top is ideal (tank is 26in high and has 250W MHI's) cheers
Pies
My own experance from frogspawn is that they like med/low light and med/low current. Be warned these things send out ultra killer tenticles and will reach 15-20cm so be carefull. No problem with the epoxy. Good luck nice coral. ben19185074
same here...i got a some plece from Ivan too...i only had it under FL tubes (2x20W). I also had it at the top of my tank. I think is due to my lighting that the colours didnt' show up too well. (Is like a light green colour..). Also this thing have a mouth too right? It seems to releast some light brownish stuff.(i only see it once). Also does it need to be feed? if so what? Thanks
chimera
well I'd be pretty damn happy if I could get the live sand from Ivan too. Anyone got his number (sorry RnB, I lost it) or know if this is sold yet? if so PM me so I can call him again...!
chimera
rang him, all sand gone
lduncan
Why do you need live sand? A lot of the better reefs I have seen either use no sand, or vacuum it regularly. Best to leave this sort of thing to live rock... unless you are planning it as part of your sump, like a removable dsb or something? RnB
will different frags from the same frogspawn sting each over? over time? or do they have an immunity to immeditate family members 8)
Brianemone
hmmm i am also interested to know that, and would that same rule apply to other types of coral ie xenia vs xenia, acro vs acro
Pies
RnB - corals from the same colony will not sting each other, no matter how much time passes. Because each polyp is a clone of the last. Sexual reproduction is required before genetic differences are senseable by the corals.

Brianemone
what about a green tourch with a red torch
lduncan
what about a green tourch with a red torch Like Pies said, only with two corals which have reproduced asexually. To different imported tourches may or may not be able sting each other. But a frag taken from a colony will not sting the colony once separated.
