twinkles
Can we get these here? I thought we couldn't get them, and i've never seen them, but i just stumbled on someones old webpage where they are breeding them. I'd love a couple, such cool markings. phoenix44
and here the can of worms open  ok. so you can technically get them. but those that have them are rightfully secretive about owning them because the world is not a rosy place filled with puppies and kitten and other such cuddly stuff and people are inclined to steal them etc etc etc... it doesn't help that they can no longer be imported into NZ. there are a lot of recent posts covering this topic, try searching for them... as of now there are only a handful in the country - and not many people know where they are. they cost an absolute bomb though, look at paying a fair few k for a single specimen. That is if you can find one. and if you do find one let us know where you get it from... Im sure at least 95% of the people on here, from NZ will be keen on the info
twinkles
i just googled it and got the same thing. Its a shame, they're such gorgeous fish. If the few who have them managed to breed them surely there'd be enough to share round before long, I imagine they'd have fair size spawnings? I'll wait patiently for it to happen... Dixon1990
IM pretty sure thepage you're talking about is like 4+ yeaars old? I think they are the people that sold them, left the country and they all died?
twinkles
yup thats the one. I was just reading through old threads on here about them, sounds like there's some hope of people holding onto them quietly and trying to breed. lmsmith
I've got some chocolate zebras (L270). They're kinda like zebras, but brown, not black. They're almost as cool, and about 1/5 of the price a pair of zebs would be, if you could find them.
twinkles
they are pretty, would look nicer in a natural tank too i think. when i have another nice big tank i'll look for a nice pleco, i've got one of those evil golden algae eaters in our biggest one at the moment.
