Mel
Yep it is .. hubby is absolutey fuming and wants to diecite (sp?) the sen Don't worry everyone i won't let him. We thought they would be fine in there - we only just had a batch of 2cm convict babies in with them and they were ok. I guess the fronts are to slow for them. ryanjury
Gutted guys I am sorry to hear that there is nothing worse than putting fish in the wrong tank and them getting eaten It is murphys law that the fish you least want to get eaten will get eaten.. I know what your husband feels, the first batch of african babies I ever bred got eaten when a giraffe jumped into the breeding trap I had in the tank, from that day on my wife wasn't happy until the mean fish got sold lol. At least it is very likely the market will be flooded with fronts soon and you should be able to get some more cheaply.

Mel
Never trust a sneaky fish .... Never under-estimate the size of the Fishies mouth .... Never put yur 'precious' type of fish wif anything unless you can be 99% sure wat it goes wif WONT harm it\them .... Can I ask wat Senegal? Juss wondering, as Frons (especially Bubbas) generally should be kept at 8-9ph, but Sens (im sure) are 6-7.5ph? So sorry for yur loss thou! Poor Bubbas! Hmm yes sneaky fish - everytime i look at him he has this ha ha haha ha look on his face  We only had put the fronts into the tank on Saturday The fishie in question is a polypterus senegalus < thats what we brought him as We also have a albino sen in there but is much smaller
DonnaM
oh thats no good at all mel Not nice. I've sorta got the opposite problem.... the 4 guppies put into a turtle tank last week...are all still there The turtles don't want to eat them and they even share the same food stick or bit of meat at times. I think I'll need to buy some fish food soon!

LOL yes I know all about that one - we put guppies and convict babies in with Mr Turtle and they don't get eaten so they end up getting scooped back out when it's tank cleaning day

phoenix44
aw mel, that's terrible. will you be getting some more fronts to replace them while they are still young?
Mel
We'd love to but .. we were extremly lucky getting them in the first place and the price we paid was pretty good too. We really just haven't got the money to be spending on fish at the moment So we'll just have to hope for the best with the remaining 4 hopefully it'll be a ratio of 1m 3f ... fingers soooo crossed it is

To be quite honest I don't think the sen could have fitted anymore in his huge tummy - he is still quite uncomfortable looking he hasn't been swimming around normally yet still looks rather bloated
