Vinnie
two of my Angel fish have started to hold on to each others mouths and shake each other a little. sometimes one of them shakes its body for a little bit just before or after this happens... Any one have an idea or any tips?
Zabman
They often do this as part of the mating process - they can have some quite impressive battle scars sometimes! Keep an eye on them, and you may see there fishy "bits" just below the anal fin which will help identify if you have a pair or not!
Vinnie
cool, thanks. . . all though if I do get a breading pair i'll need to give them the own tank, I have a pair of kribs in the same tank so might be a problem later if there both guarding eggs
Zabman
how big is the tank?
Vinnie
about 200 liters but I also have Golden barbs and a fighter in there so I wouldn't want the other fish being chased
Vinnie
Do the females also grow bigger / quicker than the males?
Zabman
They should be fine. If anything, I would move the fighter to another tank (unless of course you want to keep the bubs!). Not sure about the females getting bigger, both my pairs the male is bigger!
