znt26
I'm really hoping for some good advice as I currently have some fish in a plastic bag floating in my tank! A friend dropped off the fish because they are moving today and could not take them! I have the following at the moment: AO620 - 8 danios, 3 mollys, 1 bristelnose AO38- - 4 glowlights & 4 neons, 1 chines algae eater (the pink kind) In the plastic bag are - 1 neon, 1 penguin tetra, 1 platy, 1 bristlenose & 1 other unamed fish I was hoping to do the following: AO620 - all tetras, 2 bolivian rams (to be bought), 2 bristlenoses, 8 danios AO380 - 3 mollys, 1 platy, 1 chinese algae eater Can anyone tell me if this is ok? I also really love bettas & dwarf gourmis so if I can fit them in somehow that would be good! Really needing some advice asap! I've asked for help on the beginners forum before but still been a bit confused about combinations! Thanks in advance, Z
Simian
I'm not sure on the litreage of those tanks but they will all live together happily IMO. Beware of having too many species in one tank, its really cool to have a variety of fish but sometimes the visual effect can be confusing. Your combination for the bigger tank looks fine to me, I'd start adding to the neons with Cardinals as you can afford it (neons are false economy IMO). Watch the danios with the rams as danios tend to nip fins, keep the temp at the lower end of the range and your danios will slow down and you will actually be able to see them. Good luck Owen
znt26
Thanks Owen. I was wondering about the danios - I was thinking when I got the rams I would put them into the small tank with the mollys. The AO620 is 90litres, I'm not sure bout the 380 but I'm guessing about half of the 620.
lmsmith
The 380 is 34 litres.
Caper
Learn something new everyday, gee Owen I didn't know that danios were fin nippers. I always thought they were, more often than not, a peaceful fish. Caper

That is exceedingly good advice! Very little is said about the aesthetics of things, so bits like that we usually learn slowly through trial and error. yeh_buddy
I would also be weary of having bettas and gourami's together as they are from the same family, and because of that they have a high chance of not co-existing peacefully.
