jude
I've just found an old 4' tank in the garage. I put it on the deck and filled it with water - no leaks and it hasn't exploded all over the place. Its filthy, has been used to store sand/sawdust/and other rubbish over the years. Are there any tips for cleaning it? I presume I shouldn't use household cleaners but it will take an awful lot of elbow grease to get it looking nice. Ira
Rinse it and scrub it until it's clean. Use bleach if you think it needs sterilized.
Wok
you can use your household cleaning stuff like jiff or dishwashing liquid to do the initial clean to get rid of all the oil and grease and stuff but you then have to be really thorough in rinsing it clean. I suggest you do the best you can then leave it outside for the natural elements for a couple of days then give it another good rinse out. Cycle the tank and if the cycling fish don't die your'e done. Have fun
jude
Wok, are you suggesting the natural elements in Wellington are wet? LOL
chimera
if theres any calcium buildup try using white vinegar. any stubborn stains try using mineral turps - just give it a good wash out afterwards before using!
