evil_elmo
woah those backgrounds are mega costly to buy and you have enough for a 6ft pic of it when you're done.....not sure where you're going to put 3 heaters since the juwel tanks has the heater in with the filter... maybe get a sump and put the heaters in that? spoon
put the heaters at the ends of the tank same as filter hoses if the lid of the tank lets you otherwise carefully cut the background about 20cm from 1 end and glue it in so the end is 10-15cms from the front of the tank leaving a triangle shaped gap in the corner put heaters and intake strainer in here. then cut a an overflow peice out of the top or make small holes right thru it

rockwork
sorry matt cant help as we make our own
phoenix44
dont cut the pieces - instead place them higher up in the tank. put real rocks under it or layered gravel or something like that.
R32GOTMLK
hi so i can put my heaters underneath them? what about the filter in/outlets? if i have the backgrounds up high ill have a 100mm gap down the bottom would that look funny? Matt
phoenix44
put your heater (or 2 smaller ones) near the inlet and outlet of the filter - perhaps on the side pieces of glass. that should solve the heater problem. as for the size difference of the backgrounds - either position them in such a way that they do not look "funny" in the tank either by minimising the space at the bottom or the top. id say if its 10cm short, then put the background about 3cm from the top and 7from the bottom. then you can put a crap load of plants and gravel, Real Rocks (like big, flat ones) at the bottom. i have a picture in my head, i wish i could transfer it on to here, lol
spoon
the substrate should fill in the 10cm gap if u make it higher at the back and slope it down towards the front of the tank
R32GOTMLK
hi guys so have the 3x heaters on the ends and the 2x filter in/outlets also on the ends? does it matter where i but the filter intake on the tank? thought it might be better in the middle of the tank along the back? Cheers Matt
phoenix44
ideally your intake will be in one corner of the tank, and the outlet will be in the opposite corner. you can even add a powerhead like i have and attach a air tube to it - looks kinda nice and helps water circulation.
