tukituki
i have a few fighter fry, they are about 5 weeks old now i think and still really small. i had been giving them liquid fry food, yesterday i gave them some ground up flake food, i saw one of them eat a bit, is this ok for fry of this age? what else could i give them? hopefully they will get a bit bigger soon. kiwiplymouth
you should be feeding them baby brine shrimp or decapsulated brine shrimp eggs
Adrienne
They really need microworms and bbs when they are young. They will eat finely ground flake when they are older. By really small what size are you talking about?
tukituki
its hard to tell but they're about 1cm approx. i wouldn't know where to get the microworms from as i live in the sticks. i only tried the ground up flake food for the first time yesterday, they were on liquid fry food beforehand. should i leave the flake food for now until they're bigger? Adrienne
microworms are easy to look after - as long as you have oatmeal, yeast and a tiny amount of sugar + a starter culture. If I had one running at the moment I'd send you a tablespoon or 2 but I don't. Crush the flake right up and only feed a tiny tiny amount for a few days as well as the liquifry. They may start nibbling on it but be careful it doesn't foul the tank.
kiwiplymouth
when they get a bit bigger you could start to introduce bloodworms into their diet. They love them and do really well on them.

AMAZONIAN
Hi All IF YOU WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL and learn about fighters, go back and read my posts. I only breed fighters once a year because I find it damned near impossible to sell all of a spawning that I rear. Those who know me will tell you I rear about 150 to 200 per spawning, about 85% survival rate.
