lmsmith
You learn something new everyday! Not that I have a dragon to bathe or anything, but do they like the water? Do you put it's head under? What do they do in the wild?

Do you put it's head under? What do they do in the wild? Seem to, if dehydrated come bath time they often drink the water, ive been bathing em in shallow plastic dish in sun l8tly and they almost go to sleep init, and yip some put there head under the water, always puzzles me its like they forget to breathe lol but yea theyre good swimmers to given the chance, i put them in my indoor turtle pond thing and they bask then jump in the water have a splash then out they come in the wild id geuss most of the moisture needed would come through eating greens, dew off plants morning an night and possibly sittting in puddles but dont quote me on tht. water normally stimulates them to go number 2's aswell

Varanophile
they love a shallow bath and will writhe around..cool to watch...in the wild this apparently drowns any parasites on the skin.
Dave+Amy
I try bathe mine weekly with water temp around 90 F what's that in degrees? do you not recommend bathing small hatchlings?
phoenix44
92F = 32.22C so 32 deg C.
Insect Direct
what's that in degrees? do you not recommend bathing small hatchlings? yea about 30C & upto 35C, some bds may prefer hotter/cooler (id geuss whatever your setup temp is should be all good for the water to) hatchlings - be extra cautious, shallow water bowl to start wit maybe? ive never really had bds under 6-8weeks old so i duno misting maybe best when young, try dripn water into a water bowl to get bds attention otherwise standing water doesnt mean much to some bds eagle eye dont over do the water thing though less is prob best, especially in there enclosure you want to kp that dry :bounce:
repto
small hatchlings are just that...small.I prefer not to handle them at all if I can get away with it,one jump and they could do themselves harm?As for moisture I just mist them with a aerosol bottle, they seem to like it and lick the water as it runs down, sometimes squirt their rock and they squirm around on it. Dave+Amy
what kind or parasites could small beardys get? do they result from a lack of cleaning? I'm thinking about putting some cactii in the enclosure for decoration - would these make a good scratching post?
