loveie
Is it ok to use melafix and furan 2 together. My tank has had melafix for 4 days now but have come to the conclusion that I need to use Furan 2.
alanmin4304
What are you treating and for what?
loveie
Hi its for Hemorrhagic Septicemia
cadeusus
Haemorrhagic septicaemia is a clinical description, not a specific disease agent. What species are you wanting to treat and what are the clinical signs?
loveie
Hi its for my four comets. They have all been sitting at the bottom of the tank and have a lot of blood streaks through there back tail and have also been losing some scales over sometime. So did water changes over a week got water parameters right but no improvement. Have just finished a full treatment of furan 2 they seemed to improve a bit not 100% but hoping to put them in the outside tub. One of them also has small white pimple like dots on his head now slightly risen Also while treating they had white stringy floating poos
alanmin4304
The raised spots are not a male getting into the joys of spring? Hemorrrhagic septicemia can also be viral so antibiotics will not work if it is.

Caper
Can't help with the outside pond, sorry. But doing extra water changes when your fishies aren't "well" will not hurt them. Caper
piggyvir
same here - i have done melafix for 7 days and my fish were a bit better (oranda). One of my oranda got red wound and fin rot. Since then I have done another water change plus adding some new plants, a couple hours later, i discovered white spots on my fishy... i started the melafix cycle again. The pet shop owner told me to keep on using melafix even after 7 days (1 treatment cycle) Any other idea of what I should do? I am pulling the gravels out at the moment to install the undergravel filter plus I suspect my gravels must be too dirty...
