kiwiplymouth
I see that there is some of these on that auction site. I realize that they are fairly common and was wondering what was a realistic price per fish and how hard they are to breed. Cheers

Cheers realistic price is 20-30 $ per fish retail depending on age and size they are not "hard "to breed and have been bred before in nz the hard part is getting females as alot of them are males best of luck with them if you decide to purhase them
kiwiplymouth
I paid a little bit more than that but was happy to do so. Apparently i have purchased 3 males and 2 females. Here's hoping. I will have a better idea when they arrive tomorrow.
firenzenz
Congrats mate that is great!-I reckon these guys are great plec for heaps of reasons, and be good to get some numbers out there so good luck. get some photos up when you can! Hope the sexing is right-let us know. I have two males, and they killed the third male, so agree the females are harder to come by.
kiwiplymouth
Here are a few pics taken shortly after they arrived. They look a bit pale but i think its due to the stress of the trip. Three of them definitely have odontodes but I'm not sure about the other two. The two that don't have odontodes also seem plumper. What do you think? i will take some better pics when are settled in.
Jfishfanatic
I have two clown plecos. Was woundering what size they breed and how big can they get? Hows your ones Kimiplymouth?
kiwiplymouth
Hiya, Mine have settled in well, I have just started to simulate spring rains to try to get them to breed. I turn the heater off for a day, do a 50% water change with rain water and insert a large power head to really stir the water up. I may have to do this a few times. One if them has started to do a lot of fanning in the last few days.
