enzoom1
Thanks How can you tell the sexes apart? Colour? Fins?
Dave+Amy
dorsal fins, isn't it?
Guest
a longer tip on the back of the dorsal fin and I think it's the bottom fin near the tail is long (the females ones are shorter)
phoenix44
yep see: the elongated fins show he is a male. just wait for a bit and your fish's fins will grow really long like this lille dude.
enzoom1
Nice Bolivians you've got there phoenix If I was to get some females what ratio should I keep them at?
phoenix44
Thanks! They are sooooo peaceful that i cant really see them do any damage to one another. Then again I have 5 (3 males, 2 females) in a 4foot tank and there are no problems at all. they are just way too peaceful. as long as you have plants and a place for them to hide from time to time they will be fine! :bounce: the guy in the pic is "Michaelangelo" he likes to think he is territorial so he flares up at the other dominant male in the tank. but then he just forgets about it half way through! enzoom1
My boys are usually peaceful with eachother, but I have a dwarf gourami in the same tank as them and the gourami never gets tired of trying to pick a fight with the rams
