Insect Direct
http://www.hothouseturtles.co.nz/index.htm abit of info on there about commonly kept reptiles in nz. babies/young approx red ears - 40-80 snakenecks $120 reeves - 300 bearded dragons - 500 water dragons -350-400 blue tongues 300 then setup costs would be similar i suppose, need a tank, reptile fluro & basking light, (turtles need a good canister filter) (lizards feeding/water dishs and heaps of live food) etc hth
David R
What is theoretically available and what you can manage to get your hands on would be two very different lists...

Romeo
*Cough* there's lots of skinks and gekos in the scrubland at the beach - too bad it's illegal to interfere with them. There's thousands of them at the Wairau bar in Blenheim for instance...

museeumchick
I am currently discovering the greatness of pet frogs (I have two southern bells). they get less and less shy with time and its great watching them eat :bounce: Ok so theyre not exactly reptiles, but not flyffy either (definately cute tho). geckos are ok pets, i'm liking frogs better - more active (although less handleable)
