we want to see this "1.5 years in the making" tank.

better be good.

I think you'll be disapointed

I been talking about making it for 1.5 years, and in that time ive had 3 tanks i was going to use for it

Only been setup just over a month now, a little less with the filter

TBH its actually a failure compared to what i wanted, the woods to chunky, the plants wont grow very well and ive got all these different types of algae..

Ok, so i never got round to adding those pics

I now have the camera(crap one) and photobuckets working.

So, i have been going through all the different types of algae,

Brown first, then BGA, then Hair algae, now i have BBA on the glass.

I finally got some swords in there (marbled and Osiris). And a few other bits and pieces.

Fishwise i have:

2 Hybrid Starlight BN

2 Sterbai ,2 albino ,5Bronze and 5 Peppered corys

2 whiptails

5 Neon tetras

2 cardinal tetras

2 Platy(and 20ish fry)

and 2 Male molly

If i can catch them the neons and platys will come out of this tank, i really dont like having heaps of platy babys in here  .

So still got a few fish to go in:

10 pencilfish

5 Dwarf flags

5 Albino BN

And a couple Female molly when i can find some.

and if theres any guppies left in the tank thats getting emptied, they will go in too.

I've also added a 600lph internal to go with the 1200lph canister.

And a nutrafin Co2 set, dont know if it will do much though.

And FINALLY a crappy picture

S6300924.jpg

The tape is holding the second filter there untill i get the suctioncaps from the filter in the tank im taking down tomorrow

And the heater will go at the back with the other one too.

Have also got to plant a few more of the plants that are floating atm, and scoop out the duckweed

finally! lol...

do you keep it near a window or something? Duckweed is evil...spent almost two hours picking them out of my Riccia

It is NEAR a window, but less than 30minutes of sunlight hits the tank, Whys that?

And yes duckweed is evil, during this week i plan on getting it all out

is the green colour of the water from algae on the glass or the actual water being green?

I block out the side of my tank facing the window with polystyrene...took me ages to scrub the dam algae off the glass

Also what kind of substrate are you using? I'm thinking about changing my Discus tank substrate but obviously you can't put an undergravel filter under fine sediment - what do you do?

The water is green from tannins from the wood

And i do plan on geting poly for the sides and back, to keep the warm in and have it painted black for a dark background.

I am using daltons propergating sand.

Im just using a canisterfilter
