DonnaM
Given that the baby turtles ate the tropical fish 20yrs ago....I confess to having nil tropical fish knowledge, so know nothing about their lighting needs. I have been told UV lights are only for the plants and not the fish anyway...so would used reptile lights be any good for this purpose? It seems a waste to discard 6mth old bulbs if they can be recycled for another purpose. Anyone have any ideas??
alanmin4304
Good for reptiles but not plant or fish.
repto
they have a limited lifespan for putting out sufficient UV even though they still go and look no different to your vision.I have about 6 old ones if anyone wants them? DonnaM
I thought that might be the case...I knew they couldn't be used for the turtles, but thought there may be enough UV for growing plants for awhile. Never mind, to the dump then.... (Or I've got 3 if anyone wants them. )
