kiwipete
Is anyone using a steriliser like this one? http://www.aa-aquarium.com/showroom4.php?id=156&level=1 I have issues with mine clogging up between water changes. My main filter seems fine but the UV light section on this steriliser seems to be blocking up with algae or something. I clean it by shaking it in water, assemble the unit and about 3 days later the flow rate crawls to a dribble. Its pump section runs fine. kiwipete
Ive got the bigger version and have never had problems, you are using the sponge right? There is a wrong way to use the sponge? It fits only one way that I can see. When I cleaned it out it was chock full of a brown algae sludge. I shook it around in a bucket of water. Aquarium Dude
I shoud have put a comma before the "right" Try a larger sponge cut so that there is a section to the size of the hole but the rest is very big so that there is more surface area touching the water in the tank. kiwipete
I will try that thanks. I just dont see why or how it becomes clogged so quickly inside the unit tho.
