Baby African Cichlids - HELP PLEASE

addy

Recommended Posts

We are new to breeding and were certainly not trying to, but tonight we have found baby yellows in our adult african tank (made up of 5 yellows and 2 ice blue zebras). Unfortunately we are not certain who the mother is although have an idea. Whats the chance of these little ones surviving and can we do anything to help them? ie; taking the bigger ones out?

Any help would be much appreciated.

How big is the tank and how feasible is it to get them out. you could try collecting and putting into a fgry trap.

I'd be tempted to leave them in there, especialy if you have some good hidey holes like a buch of smallrocks and coral for them to hang out, feed them coloubits ground up a bit. They sre not going to be actively hunted as they are with those tankmates- might be an opportunistic snack thats all.
