Guest
Those plants with the big green leaves re great to start off with they grow really fast and you can cut the top off and then you have two plant and the a month later you cut the top off both of them then you have four plant (you get the idea anyway  ). They just keep growing and multiplying and they look great haveing just the back of them with plants that send runners out in the front. I think a nice bright red male fighter would still look good in their though 8) 8)

Guest
I think ice zebras are a cichlid and they're agro and can'y be kept in a community tank but I might be wrong. How about having clowns and khulie 8) . Keep us posted on what you add and post lots of pics of the tank
skaffen
How many Tiger Barbs do you have? I found that any less than five and they got nippy, five or more and they are fine and great for mid-whole tank. edit: just saw above, you've got six. Do your males go a little metallic green when they are tearing up and down the tank? Introduced 7 neons week and half ago, 4 died within a day or so, since then no problems. added 5 more fish yesterday as well. Would like eventually a silver shark, couple more tiger barbs (great looking fish, love how they zip around the tank), and some loaches.. And certainly havent seen them bother the neons, even when we just had 3 last week. Yep apart from the first 24-48 hours not had any fish loses (touch wood!) Virgil
Really pleased how its turned out. Keen to get the following fish over the coming weeks, Khulie Loachs (say 2 or 3) Bristlenose (just the 1 is enough i assume) or perhaps an Oto (can i have both?) Some specie of Gourami (how many would be a good number) Dwarf or Pearl looking likely. Possible choices, depending if compatible is either a silver shark or other type, ie red tail, red fin, maybe rainbow. Beta/Siamese fighter, beautiful looking fish. JK
Sounds good Virgil. I'm gonna grab a couple more Bristlenose this weekend I think. After seeing your new tank and a few others on here over the last week or so I have some new inspiration to put some effort in to mine and make it look 1/2 decent again! JK
Only a couple weeks after from memory but not long after that I had a bit of an issue and the tank turned into a bit of a CSI scene and lost a few All running smoothly now tho and has been for the last few months

I dread the day when that happens, brother had a dozen Neons all die at once the other day, 1 left now. Its only been 2 weeks since i set it up, might wait another 2 weeks before i introduce any more fish. Like to concentrate on adding more plants. Virgil
Got our first power bill since setting the tank up, up by 25%! Well considering our bill is normally only $80, i guess having it go up to $100 aint too bad.. JK
could just be due to a read Virgil and the last one or 2 being estimates with the winter effect not built in. I dont think our power bill jumped by that much but it is more like $110-115 a month rather than $
