Caryl Posted July 16, 2008 Report Share Posted July 16, 2008 We have been in ChCh for the Ingram Micro Roadshow and had a very good day. They had 3 main lucky draws. You had a card you had to get stamped by 10 different vendors as you went around the room. Once full, it was put in a box for the big draw (one entry per person). This comprised of about 16 (I didn't count) coloured boxes of different sizes and the person named on the card drawn from the box had to answer a simple question then got to choose the size and colour box to find out what they had won. Two of them had booby prizes in them. The first draw I was the 2nd name called out and won a 160Gb portable hard drive. The second draw I was the 1st name drawn out and won a Sony Ericsson Z310i mobile phone (takes photos and all sorts of stuff apparently). The third draw was Grant's chance and he won a Samsung CLP300n colour laser printer! This created a problem as we were in the MX5 :lol: In one of the smaller draws (where you put your business card in various boxes at vendor stalls to win stuff) I won a Laser Groove Mate V10 MP3 player. At that point Stu, the announcer, suggested I go buy a LOTTO ticket (which I have done). We were also given (along with all sorts of other stuff) some Phillips headphones so all in all it was a good day 8) I bumped into wilson a couple of times too and he seemed to be enjoying himself. You should have seen us fitting all the stuff into the MX5 to get home! The printer box was too big so we took the printer out, flattened the box and put it across behind the seats, and broke up the surrounding polystyrene. The rest of the stuff then got crammed around it, or shoved behind the seats. I had one bag of goodies (mainly the food we had picked up from vendors - jellybeans, chocolate, mints etc) plus a poly box of fish between my feet. At least they kept warm on the trip home. All in all it was worth the trip. We got to see our son and his partner and go out to dinner with them, I got to buy a pile of books from Borders and we visited Eddie in hospital. I also managed to get to Bubble and Squeak and Organism but ran out of time on the last day to get back to Organism to buy more fish. Got some from B&S though.
