majik
Hi mabe start off with 50g bare bottom tank temp around 84-86 oF couple of sponge filters mabe canister as well(discus dont like current so i face my spray bar towards the back)making sure filters are cycled of corse .6 juvies is a good number to grow out lots and lots of water changes the more the better at least 50% every other day if possible.ph is not so much a problem as long as its stable aged water is best so mabe concider setting up a storage barrel, feeding usually bloodworms tetra, colour discus tucker(beefheart)good for growth but need water change after feeding beefheart. hope this helps some
supasi
Water changes, waterchanes, waterchanges, dont skimp on waterchanges. Once they grow older they are a bit more less demanding, but still require good water quality.temp around 28- 29 degrees celcius Avoid to much bright light, floating plants help them feel secure. When they feel secure they tend to come out of hiding more and become real characters in my experiance. They are awesome fish. Kinda wish i never sold mine no! Luke*
yeah what majik and supasi said i'd recommend black sponge filters (grey column), color bits, bloodworm and whiteworm, and homemade oxheart mix (google it or go to simplydiscus.com) going barebottom will save you heaps of headaches as it is much easier to keep your water cleaner and free of any nasties

kd123
I agree with all of the above!!! I went with some little ones and have only two of them left. They are demanding. I now have 6 large adults and they are just amazing and no where near as demanding... It is well worth spending a bit more to get the older fish
