MarkLB
Hi all. I bought a bunch of fry several months ago. Some Red Shoulders and some Fryeri. One of the Fryeri has started to show colour and I couldn't help taking a few pics....so I thought I'd share..... The flash makes him look better than he is but the potential is obvious even to the naked eye.

Afrikan
Very nice pics, yeah the brown/reddish colour is certainly different to what I had
MarkLB
I got them from a forum member. They don't post often but I've heard good things about their fish. I think it's the flash brings those other colours out. No flash = a different looking fish.
ryanjury
Are they from OOA? They are very nice looking fish will be interesting to see how they colour up and see how much of that red/brown they keep Keep us updated with pics etc.. malawiman
Hi Mark I have some similar in size, think we got it from the same source. I've seen the parents and they are some of the best looking fish I've seen. My males started to colour up at about 5 cm.
MarkLB
Hi malawiman. , think we got it from the same source. Did you get yours from your neck of the woods or mine? Mine came from Christchurch.
malawiman
Mine is from here, but if I understand right the original breeders are from Christchurch. They have been around for a while. OOA bred them.
ryanjury
I wondered if they were from that line The ones I have seen grown up have stuff all red/brown on them so it must fade.. It is awesome when you wait for ages with small fish and they finally colour up even better when they breed, good luck Mark and update pics as he grows..
