Afrikan
The male tube is usually alot thinner and smaller than the females... the females is usually fat and stubby looking... hmm that's the best I can describe it  They definately are different to look at. Hers is more pronounced looking than his... Do you notice other physical differences between the two like dorsal fins etc, that's how we generally sexed our bolivians that way... mitzy
I never seen the tubes when i had them , mind you I was not looking and they didnt have much colour in my tank and are colouring up nicely in mumzy tank, Im sure there fins were the same apart from one of them have a thick black line on the top fin and it might be a little higher but not sure on that. mumzy50
Mitzy you did,you need glases. Now one of them has paired up with the female keyhole. If it was a male, would the tube be longer,or shorter.I need to know so i can get it a partner. Afrikan
The males tube is normally shorter, more delicate looking... shame you couldn't throw a pic on here of them 8) We kept a few in the same tank, and you they normally pair off on their own, maybe something you could do if you unsure of sexing them?
