I was not trying to insult you at all.

Iv removed it as you think its insulting.

Im sorry I insulted you.

Have you tried asking the trader you got it off? They may not know of the issue yet.

Are they straight pins? I think it will be a 230v Chinese unit.

Hi, I have said many times that is actually illegal for anyone to be commercially selling electrical products with any overseas plug and having to use a NZ adapter plug. This is can void your insurance of your house if you have a fire or at least the accessor can use it against you and not pay out!!!!!! These people from that way that bring these in on the cheap and sell on TradeMe....

You can request the Aust/NZ plug with the Australian electrical standards certificates, (that is why there are the certificate numbers imprinted by the pins on the NZ plug) however you will find that if these buyers went to the Jebo company and ask for the Aust/NZ plug, they will not sell to them as there is a Jebo authorised agent in Aust/NZ.

They are then only able to purchase on the domestic China market. Hence the China pin pattern.

So these so called importers bring in these imported electrical products, then its buyer beware!!!!!!

really our insurance can be void if i choose to plug the thing in they have said they sent the wrong adapter so they must have many made in china products and will send the proper one sometime this coming week so is it better if i cut my losses and not plug it in just in case

What I said was that if you are "commercially" selling any electrical product in NZ then you have to, by law have the Aust/NZ cord and plug and are not to use "adaptors. (Electrical Safety NZ)

Why some of these sellers sell with the Chinese cord and plug is that they buy the local Chinese domestic product as they can not go to the Jebo factory and ask to have the Aust/NZ cord and plug as they have an agent in NZ and will not sell to them.

Private sellers on TradeMe may be selling the one off with the China or any foreign 230-240 volt product with adaptor, but shouldn't do so.

Also some people go to an electrical supplier in NZ and buy an Aust/NZ cord and plug and replace the foreign unit....however this is suppose to be done by an electrician with that certification.-:)

Recent standards are that the Aust/NZ pins on the plug must be insulated half way.

This is why importers that bring in the correct product for that country have to sell for more as they have to have the correct paperwork.
